Casey Harrison is a Licensed Dyslexia Therapist, Certified Academic Language Therapist, and the founder of both Wimberley Dyslexia & Learning CenterĀ and The Dyslexia Classroom. With more than 27 years of experience, Casey is dedicated to empowering dyslexic learners through instruction that is academically rigorous, emotionally supportive, and grounded in the science of reading.
As the author of Teaching Beyond the Diagnosis: Empowering Students with Dyslexia, Casey developed her signatureĀ Integrated Framework, which blends structured literacy, diagnostic-prescriptive teaching, and social-emotional learning to help students build the confidence, skills, and resilience they need to thrive. Her work emphasizes that dyslexia intervention must address the whole childālinking language, cognitive processing, and emotional well-being.
Casey serves on the Executive Board of Directors for theĀ Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA), where she advocates for high professional standards and advances pathways for quality dyslexia therapy. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the field, she received the prestigiousĀ ALTA Aylett Cox Award, one of the organizationās highest honors.
She also co-hosts the Together in LiteracyĀ podcast, where she and Emily Gibbons highlight the intersection of evidence-based instruction and the emotional experience of dyslexic learners.
A national speaker, resource creator, and literacy leader, Casey designs structured literacy curricula, therapeutic tools, and professional development for educators, parents, and specialists. Her work has been featured by organizations across the U.S. and internationally, reflecting her commitment to making research-informed practice both meaningful and accessible.
Through her centers, writing, and collaborations, Casey continues to support families, empower educators, and advocate for responsive, intentional instruction. Her mission is clear: to help every dyslexic learner move beyond the diagnosis and into their own purposeful pathway toward success.
